Victron Orion XS 1400 50A DC to DC automatic multi-stage intelligent

Function

The Victron Orion XS 1400 is an intelligent, high-efficiency DC-DC charger and power supply designed to charge a secondary battery bank or power sensitive DC loads from another DC power source. Uniquely flexible, the Orion XS 1400 supports 12V, 24V, or mixed-voltage systems, offering seamless integration into a wide range of vehicle, marine, or off-grid electrical setups.

Whether you need to charge a leisure battery from your starter battery, support lithium battery installations with smart alternators, or supply power to DC equipment from unstable voltage sources, the Orion XS 1400 delivers reliable performance and full configurability.

Key Features

Versatile Voltage Support

- Compatible with 12V, 24V, or mixed-voltage systems.

Smart Alternator Compatibility

- Built-in engine running detection allows the charger to only activate when the engine is running.

- Ideal for modern Euro 5 & Euro 6 vehicles with intelligent alternators.

- Prevents reduced or intermittent charging typically caused by smart alternator behavior.

Advanced Adaptive Charging

- Features a four-stage adaptive charge algorithm (bulk, absorption, float, storage).

- Optimised charging for lead-acid and lithium batteries.

- Includes 8 preset battery charging profiles and full customisation options via VictronConnect.

Complete Electronic Protection

- Overload, short circuit, and over-temperature protection.

- Automatically reduces power output to prevent overheating.

- Undervoltage lockout prevents draining the source battery below safe limits (user-configurable).

Low Temperature Shutdown

- Protects lithium batteries from charging at unsafe low temperatures.

- Automatic shutdown and recovery ensure system longevity.

IP65-Rated Durability

- Rugged dust- and waterproof housing for harsh environments.

- Perfect for use in mobile, marine, and off-grid applications.

Power Supply Mode

- Operates as a stable DC power supply with adjustable output voltage.

- Automatic buck-boost control keeps output constant, regardless of fluctuations in input voltage.

- Prevents overcurrent even when output voltage exceeds input voltage.

Full Connectivity & Remote Monitoring

- Configure and monitor via VictronConnect App (Bluetooth).

- Supports remote access via VictronConnect-Remote when connected to a GX device.

- Integrates with VRM Portal, GX Remote Console, or computer/mobile device via VE.Direct to USB interface.

Remote On/Off Control

Charger activation can be triggered via

- Integrated engine detection.

- External relay or switch.

- VictronConnect app or GX device.

Applications

- Charging auxiliary batteries in campervans, motorhomes, 4x4s, boats.

- Dual battery setups with lead-acid or lithium chemistries.

- Supplying stable DC power to sensitive onboard electronics.

- Overcoming voltage drops in long cable runs.

- Smart alternator regulation in modern vehicle systems.

Compatibility

Compatible with all 12V and 24V lead-acid and lithium battery types. Ir is not compatible with mixed-voltage banks (e.g., charging a 12V bank from a 24V bank and vice versa simultaneously)
